Josten's Entry

This week we sent in photo entries to the Josten's Photo contest. I sent this one in for student life. I really like the angle of the photo. I was on my belly on the floor to get the shot. They were freshman and they all looked at me funny. iso-400 f/ 4.0 shutter speed- 1/100

Here Lately...

so I was asked to take a picture of a drill team girl for the yearbook. Catherine was so patient with  me and i thank her. I had the absolute worst luck with this assignment. I got up there set everything up and I didn't have a conector. Then i got back up there and realized my flash didn't have batteries. So i went back down to photography. I get back up there thinking i have everything ready to go. And nothing works; my flash wouldnt fire in sync with the pocket wizard. Me and Alex couldnt figure it out so I called smith, he came up there and helped. The flash wasnt hooked up to the right thing. I was so frustrated. But the only way you learn is by failing. And believe me...i have learned. ONce everything got to working, I pointed my flash into an umbrella. I set it right by her.iso-400 f/5.6 shutter speed-1/250. In the first picture I caught her in action-kicking. In he second picture alex and i weere waiting for Catherine to change and it was kind of a happy accident. I like how it is really close up on her face, she looks very angelic.

Karaoke Night

I was asked to shoot karaoke night last minute. And im really glad i went. it was lots of fun. I like the expression on their faces. It was hard to get my exposure just right because it was so dark in there. And i was laughing really hard. iso-800 f/ 4.0 shutter speed- 1/160

Ceramics Class

I had to go shoot this real quick because they needed pics really fast because deadline was....yesterday. I really like how her work is in focus and she is smiling. I used a flash and bounced it off the ceiling. Iso- 400 f/2.8 shutter speed- 1/160

ATPI Self Portrait

I finally got an idea for my self portrait. It didn't turn out exactly the way I had planned but I like it. We didn't have a black sheet so I had to use a sleeping bag for my background. It took me a really long time to get the camera to focus correctly and to get the settings on flash right too. I set my power to 1/16 and had it firing into an umbrella. My settings were iso-200 f/ 2.8 and shutter speed 1/250.
