Art Stuff

I was asked to take pictures of this artwork for some guys portfolio. I laid a black sheet on the ground and had the flash fired up at the ceiling. It was a pretty easy assignment. I brought up the blacks in light-room on the sketches because the flash+white paper= really bright! it made it look more defined. My iso was 400 f/4.0 and my shutter speed was 1/60.

Toe Shoes!

We were in the theatre agin today. Heather brought toe shoes and we did all sort of different pictures. Choir was on the other side of the stage practicing so the spotlights were on. I love using ambient light because me and flash just dont mix. So all of these pictures (except for one) was taken under the spotlight.

I shot this one with a flash. It took me for ever to get it exposed correctly. The power was at 1/16 and and i bounced it off the wall. 

Orb. fourth and final time.

I was going to cry if i didnt get it right this time. Every time I had tried it was either too dark, the orb wasn't right, it was out of focus, or it just wasnt a good picture. I set my camera up on a tripod, and used a remote to keep my shutter open. I went up on the diving bored and spun the glow sticks around. Then I left my shutter open for 10 minutes. It looks like daylight outside. I really wanted to get a reflection on the pool and I found that the lighter it is outside you dont get that good of a reflection. Honestly i was just happy i got the orb right and it was properly exposed. The trees in the background are blurred because it was really  windy last night. My iso was set to 100 and my apperature was open to 5.6.

ORB FAIL

I went to take pictures of orbs monday night. and I really like how it turned out except for the fact it is out of focus. I really wanted to get the reflection of the water. and i got it but it is out of focus. i set it to manual and put my focus on infinity. It definitely looked in focus on my camera but on the computer it was out of focus!!!  i was so mad! so me and alex are going to redo them tonight. but i got the star trails.

Prom 2011

This  Saturday was senior prom. I really enjoyed shooting it. It was super dark in there so I fired the flash directly on them. It took a while for my camera to focus though. I would slow my shutter speed down every once in a while so the light streams would show up. I had my iso at 400 and my aperture was 4.0 my shutter speed differed depending on wether i was shooting into the lights or away from them.

Masquerade Mask

We were in the theatre agin today and heather was working on her mask for prom. I really haven't felt well for the past couple of days so my pictures have been crap. So i laid the mask out on the black stage and just shot it at different angles. I shot with a macro lens. I like the contrast with the black on white. Its a very simple still life picture. My iso was 400, f/ 1.8 and my shutter speed was 1/60.

Heather

We were in the theatre messing around and heather was laughing and i thought it would be a cute picture. We forgot pocket wizards so i left the shutter open for like 5 seconds and hit the pilot light on the flash and it worked. Apparently to Mr. Smith she looks like a shark? But I have been sick and don't feel good; so this is the best thing i could get. I will do better next time.
